Apple iOS devices include a native VPN client. You can use this client to make an L2TP VPN connection.

Configure the L2TP Network Settings

To configure the L2TP connection on an iOS device:

1. Select Settings > General > VPN
2. TapAdd VPN Configuration.
3. From the Type menu, tap L2TP.
4. Tap Back.
5. In the Description text box, type a name for the VPN connection.
6. In the Server text box, type the IP address or hostname of the server to connect to.
7. In the Account text box, type your user name as it appears in the service activation email.
8. Keep the RSA SecurID slider off.
9. In the Password text box, type the password as it appears in the service activation email.
10. In the Secret text box, type “vpn”.
11. Keep the Send All Traffic slider on.
12. Keep the Proxy setting Off.
13. Tap Done.

Start the L2TP Connection

To start the L2TP connection:

1. On the iOS device, select Settings > General > VPN.
2. Select the L2TP VPN profile to use.
3. Swipe Status to Connecting.
